Growing rural resilience through women-led pasture and livestock management

Organisers: Centre for Environmental Initiatives “Ecoaction”, Rural Women’s Business Network and Swedish Society for Nature Conservation

Format: online

The event brings together representatives of agricultural enterprises and farms, academic institutions, relevant ministries, and civil society organisations to discuss pathways for the protection and sustainable development of pasture and livestock management in Ukraine.

The roundtable will open with introductory remarks, followed by a first session dedicated to the current state of pasture management in Ukraine and the key challenges facing the sector. The second part will feature a panel discussion titled “Women farmers’ voices from the fields”, bringing together women farmers and representatives of authorities to share experiences, perspectives, and policy views. The event will conclude with an open microphone session and closing remarks, creating space for broader dialogue and reflection.

This event is part of a new initiative launched by the organisers with the support of the Swedish Institute, aimed at improving women farmers’ access to land, water, biodiversity, and other essential resources, while advancing the realisation of their rights and opportunities. By promoting sustainable farming practices, the roundtable seeks to explore existing barriers and opportunities, and to inform future work toward more inclusive and resilient rural development in Ukraine.
