Energy market liberalisation plans: How much will we pay for electricity and gas after the war?

Organisers: Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting, DiXi Group, Center for Economic Strategy, Institute for Analysis and Advocacy

Format: online

Join the presentation of the April monitoring report on the implementation of the conditions of the IMF program and EU assistance under the Ukraine Facility by the RRR4U consortium.

After a significant delay in Ukraine’s implementation of reforms, things have finally started to move forward. In April, parliament was able to pass a number of key bills.

Oleksandra Betliy, a leading expert at the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting, will discuss the status of progress on EU assistance indicators under the Ukraine Facility.

Maksym Samoiliuk, an economist at the Centre for Economic Strategy, will present the implementation of the IMF program’s milestones.

These commitments include many unpopular reforms. One of the most sensitive issues is the gradual move to market prices for electricity and gas after martial law ends.

The government must prepare a plan for gradual changes in the energy market. We’ll discuss what this means in practice during our special monitoring session: “Plans for Energy Market Liberalization: How Much Will We Pay for Electricity and Gas After the War?”, presented by DiXi Group project expert Alona Korohod.

The discussion will be moderated by Olena Hrazhdan, a business reporter for the Kyiv Post.
