GHG emissions assessment in Ukraine on the way to climate neutrality and ETS introduction

Organisers: Green Deal Ukraina

Format: online

Green Deal Ukraina (GDU) invites you to the webinar on greenhouse gas emissions accounting in Ukraine, which aims to support efficient climate policies. The event will occur this Friday, July 12, 2024, at 12:00 CET (1:00 pm Kyiv time).

Introducing an effective emissions trading system (ETS) is crucial for Ukraine's obligations on the path to EU accession. Proper preparation for monitoring, verifying, and reporting GHG emissions is a critical component of this process.

To provide insights, GDU have prepared a report that examines GHG emissions accounting in Ukraine before the full-scale Russian invasion and explores the potential scope of ETS sectors. This report lays the groundwork for future assessments of the war's impact on GHG emissions and outlines the next policy steps to address this issue.
