Energy communities for Ukraine: the path to energy independence

The event is dedicated to the development of energy communities in Ukraine as a key tool for energy independence and harmonisation with European standards. Energy communities are initiatives where citizens and businesses jointly invest in renewable energy, gaining access to clean energy, cost savings and energy independence.

During the event, two studies will be presented:

  • “Renewable Energy in Ukraine: Current Institutional Environment, Investment Barriers and Prospects” by DIW Econ

  • “Development of Energy Communities in Ukraine” by German Energy Agency (dena)

During the event you will learn about current investment barriers for renewable energy in Ukraine, recommendations for overcoming obstacles to the development of energy communities, prospects and importance of energy communities for sustainable development and examples of successful energy community models from the European experience.

he event will be held in Ukrainian and English with simultaneous translation.
