Organiser: ReThink
Format: online
At its core, circular construction is about people — about designing and shaping sustainable environments where every individual, regardless of gender, background, ability, or social status, feels seen, included, and protected.
Despite progress, the construction sector in Ukraine and worldwide remains one of the least inclusive industries. Gender bias, a lack of accessible design, and the underrepresentation of women, veterans, and marginalized groups in urban decision-making processes continue to present systemic challenges.
Join for the online webinar, part of the “Safe, Sustainable, and Swift Reconstruction of Ukraine (S3)” project, focusing on circular concrete recycling. S3 is not just about technology, but also about putting people at the center. The aim is to explore how GEDSI principles (Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion) can be applied to build more inclusive environments.
During the session, you will learn:
How the construction sector in Ukraine can become a pathway for veteran support and social reintegration
A personal account of navigating and overcoming systemic barriers in the industry — and how to transform these challenges into change
Practical approaches to designing inclusive, people-centered spaces that foster equity and dignity
