Ukraine Nature Network meeting

Organiser: Hamburg University of Applied Sciences

Format: online meeting

The Research and Transfer Centre “Sustainable Development and Climate Change Management” at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences is launching the project “Ukraine Nature Network: Platform to document and disseminate information on environment and nature conservation initiatives in Ukraine in the context of the war”.

Apart from its role as an information hub, Ukraine Nature Network aims to facilitate collaboration among academic institutions, environmental NGOs, government agencies, and the private sector. By sharing resources and information, these entities can maximize their impact on conservation and restoration efforts.

The key themes and focus of the project are:

  1. Matters related to soil (including agriculture)

  2. Forests and forest conservation

  3. Waste management

  4. Energy production/saving

Organizations working within these topics are welcome to join the Ukraine Nature Network and attend the first online meeting. Participation in the network is free of charge and offers members the following advantages:

  • Access to information on current projects and initiatives in Ukraine in the field of environment, especially water, soil, forests, and waste management, useful for universities, NGOs, foundations, the private sector, etc.

  • Access to information on project calls, event support, and other funding opportunities.

  • Possibilities to connect with organizations in many countries interested in working in Ukraine on environmental issues.
