Organisers: German Platform for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and Build Ukraine Back Better Platform
Format: online
Russia's war has severely damaged Ukraine's transport infrastructure: roads, bridges and public transport are destroyed or only partially operational. Recovery offers an opportunity to fundamentally modernise the sector with safe, low-carbon and accessible solutions for urban and rural areas alike.
As part of our joint cooperation with the German Platform for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, this event will take place on 16 September 2026 during European Mobility Week, focusing on priorities for a modern, safe and low-carbon transport system in Ukraine.
Ukrainian, German and European policymakers, practitioners and development partners will discuss recommendations from BUBB’s Roadmap for the Sustainable Recovery of Ukraine, covering key reforms: Public Service Obligations, Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans, modernisation of tram and electric transport infrastructure, improved transport data systems, and how international partners can support financing, technical assistance and regulatory change.
