Sustainable Changes in Ukraine’s Textile & Apparel Industry: Online Seminars

Swedish NGO Sustainability InnoCenter, invites you to participate in a series of five online seminars conducted by Swedish and Ukrainian experts, which are part of the Competence Advancement for Ukraine - Textile & Apparel Industry innovative initiative within the wider RECONOMY program by Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation. Running until December 2026, the program aims to enable women and youth, especially the most disadvantaged, to benefit from inclusive and green economic opportunities, by strengthening skills, services and enabling environments for decent and green jobs.

Registration is open until 20th of August 23:59 Kyiv time (22:59 CET).

Through these seminars you will:

✅ Gain practical knowledge on circular business models, innovative materials, resource efficiency and EU standards for the T&A industry;

✅ Connect with Swedish and Ukrainian experts and peers for new networking opportunities;

✅ Learn how to develop your own sustainable project ideas and pitch them for feedback and support;

✅ Become eligible for 15 online consulting opportunities to develop a sustainable SME or private entrepreneurship project;

✅ Compete for 10 individual business-incubator trips to Sweden to develop your startup with expert mentorship.

Who is invited to participate:

  • School students aged 15+, especially those involved in school social enterprises in the T&A sector;

  • Students of vocational education institutions and universities studying professions connected to the T&A sector;

  • Educators (all levels) and youth workers who wish to improve their study/development programs for bigger sustainable impact, using the T&A sector as context;

  • Young entrepreneurs and SME representatives established in the T&A or interconnected sectors;

  • Everyone from Sweden, other EU and partnering countries interested in the sustainable development of the T&A sector and/or business cooperation with Ukrainian stakeholders.

Programme of the seminars:

  • 22nd August, Friday | 13:00–14:30 CET | Best practices in Swedish and EU T&A industry. Opportunities for networking.

  • 28th August, Thursday | 13:00–14:30 CET | Innovative materials, technological solutions and business ideas.

  • 12th September, Friday | 13:00–14:30 CET | Education for the T&A industry. Evolutionary trends in the sector.

  • 19th September, Friday | 13:00–14:30 CET | Ukraine’s integration to EU and alignment with EU T&A market standards.

  • 24th September, Wednesday | 13:00–14:30 CET | Human resources and sustainable development of T&A industry.

Seminars will be conducted in English and Ukrainian languages (consecutive translation). To fully participate in the program, proficiency in one of the languages is sufficient.

Each seminar includes a theoretical part and practical tasks during 1h 30 minutes allocated. You’ll have the chance to present your assignments and receive valuable feedback.

Graduates from Ukraine will be invited to submit a motivation letter to qualify for consulting support or/and an incubator trip to Sweden.
