Women Rebuilding Ukraine’s Energy System: Energy, War & Justice

Organisers: Women’s Energy Club of Ukraine and Energy Country

Format: online

Within the framework of the 70th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), join a special parallel virtual event exploring how women are shaping the resilience and transformation of Ukraine’s energy sector in times of war and recovery.

Russia’s full-scale invasion has severely damaged Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Yet Ukrainian women have become key actors of resilience — sustaining energy operations, supporting communities, managing crises, and shaping strategies for recovery and transformation.

Rebuilding Ukraine’s energy system today is not only about restoring infrastructure. It is about designing systems that are resilient, inclusive, democratic, and aligned with the green transition.

This high-level dialogue will bring together policymakers, energy companies, international organisations, and women leaders to discuss how energy security, justice, innovation, and inclusive leadership intersect in wartime and reconstruction.

Participants will include representatives of:

  • national policymakers shaping Ukraine’s energy and recovery policies

  • leaders of major energy companies and infrastructure operators

  • international organisations supporting Ukraine’s sustainable recovery

  • private-sector innovators driving new energy solutions

  • experts in energy transition, climate policy, and inclusive reconstruction
